Goat Herder has taken the past couple months off, but they are back with a vengeance! Come see the all new line up for the very first time in their hometown, New Haven!
Local ska-punk favorites Slip And Fall will join the bill as well as the state’s premiere female fronted hardcore-punk act Productive Member!
Goat Herder formed in 2012 with one thing in mind – to make aggressive music with a real message. Over the past five years they have grown to be a dominating force in the Connecticut metal scene, and have spent time on the road as well. Goat Herder has provided direct support for acclaimed acts such as The Misfits, The Murder Junkies and Mobile Deathcamp, just to name a few.
The past couple years have seen some lineup changes for Goat Herder, however their main objective has never faltered and they continue to create fast and heavy music without conforming to a certain genre or mold. Their lyrics provide a message of hope in this world of trauma. 2017 sees Goat Herder with its most solid line up to date, taking their unique metal punk sounds to places it has never been before.
GH features Nick on vocals, who has always played bass in bands past, such as Dominus, Kaivus, Exult and most recently, Tijuana Hot Cocks. After the tragedy that ended THC, Nick found his home where the blend of the insane and sanity within meet, fronting GH.
Joe Jr. may be the youngest member, but his years of experience exceed his age. He’s played bass with The Chore Boys, and when he’s not tearing up that axe with GH, you can see him in Savage World. Joe’s main influences are the Cro Mags, Slayer and Black Sabbath.
Bassist Sean has been playing guitar since high school, most notably in Itty Flip, 595, The Beer Scouts and Hygiene Wilder. When GH formed, they needed a drummer. In true punk rock fashion he decided to give it a try, in turn, creating his own unique style unlike any other drummer we’ve ever seen.
GH’s newest member, Phred has been XXX in bands spanning multiple genres, such as The Dukes of Hamden, The Shoutbacks, Atlas Falls, and Illrevue. When he’s not hitting the skins for GH you can catch him in the instrumental surf outfit, 9th Wave.
Goat Herder’s infectious mash-up of punk, hardcore, and metal styles, coupled with their originality and refusal to keep every song in 4-4 timing make them an act that must be heard. Do your mind and ears a favor, and go see Goat Herder the next time they invade your town!
