Connecticut theaters unite to lobby state for $12 million in economic aid

The request for financial assistance is in response to Congress’ passing of the CARE Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) in March. As described on the U.S. Department of the Treasury website, “the CARES Act provides fast and direct economic assistance for American workers, families, and small businesses, and preserve jobs for our American industries.” Connecticut stands to receive $1.3 billion in CARES money.
