Naugatuck police investigate baseball game ‘altercation’

NAUGATUCK — Town police continue to investigate an “altercation” at a baseball game last weekend, police officials confirmed this week.

Deputy Chief C. Colin McAllister said first responders were dispatched to a baseball game at Rotary Field around 2 p.m. Sunday for a report of an altercation.

“The victim was evaluated by EMS at the scene, but declined transport to the hospital,” McAllister said.

He said the suspect left the area before officers arrived, and an arrest has not been made.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the altercation. Police did not specify how the victim and the alleged suspect were connected to the game. Police also did not say the ages of the players involved in the game.

Anyone with information can call Naugatuck police at 203-729-5222.
