Police: Man wanted for carjacking, assaulting cop

DANIELSON — State police are asking the public to report any sightings of a man wanted on warrants in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The Troop D barracks in Danielson is searching for 28-year-old Dennis Cruz, who troopers hold an active arrest warrant on a violation of protective order charge. He was last seen in the area of Walmart in Putnam on Thursday morning.

Police said Cruz has outstanding arrest warrants in Massachusetts, including on charges linked to carjacking, assault, narcotics and assault on a police officer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Troop D at 860-779-4900 or Massachusetts State Police at 508-347-3352. All callers can remain anonymous.
