Connecticut restaurants fear devastating loss of business, second round of layoffs as cold weather threatens outdoor dining

The Wood-n-Tap restaurant in Farmington, with coveted outdoor dining along the Farmington River, has had a busy summer, said Phil Barnett, co-owner and co-founder of Hartford Restaurant Group, which owns several Wood-n-Taps throughout the state and Que Whiskey Kitchen in Southington. Barnett plans to enclose the Farmington restaurant’s large tent with heaters inside, if allowed, to extend seating into the fall.
