Former UConn receiver Geremy Davis cut by Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions announced that they have released former UConn receiver Geremy Davis.

Davis was drafted by the New York Giants in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He had two catches in 10 games as a rookie. He spent the last four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers primarily playing on special teams although he did have three catches during the 2019 season with two of them coming in a win over Miami on Sept. 29. Davis had 13 tackles for the Chargers in 21 games over the last two seasons.

Davis ranks sixth in UConn history with 165 catches for 2,292 receiving yards in 47 career games.
