Sacred Heart picked second in Atlantic Hockey preseason poll

The Sacred Heart men’s hockey team was picked to finish second in the Atlantic Hockey preseason poll.

The Pioneers, coming off a 21-10-3 season, received two of the nine first-place votes. Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Year Braeden Tuck is one of 22 returning players for Sacred Heart which had winning streaks of six and four games a season ago and were 2-0-1 in the final three games before the season ended as a result of COVID-19.

The Pioneers will open the season on Nov. 21 against AHA preseason favorite American International College which received seven first-place votes. That will be followed by a game at Quinnipiac on Nov. 24 before playing their home opener on Nov. 27 against Army.
