Sacred Heart running back Julius Chestnut and Central Connecticut State offensive lineman J’Von Brown were named to the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America team.
Chestnut, a second-team selection, ran for 1,495 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore. He also had 14 catches for 179 yards and two TDs.
Brown, a third-team pick, is named to the preseason All-American squad for the second season in a row. His 2019 campaign was cut short due to injury but during the 2018 season he helped the Blue Devils rank 21st in FCS with 223.6 rushing yards per game.
Chestnut and Brown are among the honored players who will not be playing in the fall as the Northeast Conference opted not to have sports in the fall season due to COVID-19 concerns.
