UConn seeking donations from basketball ticket buyers to offset pandemic losses

Multiple UConn season ticket holders told The Courant that they hadn’t heard from the university about options for the season, aside from a survey gauging their interest in attending games, before Tuesday’s email. But Sean Burns, a fan entering his third year as a season ticket holder, says he was contacted by the UConn Foundation two weeks ago with options for season ticket members. He and his wife opted to convert half of their per-seat donation into a straight donation, and roll the rest of the donation and ticket costs towards 2021 tickets, ensuring that they wouldn’t lose their existing seats. The presented options featured other incentives around priority points and access to seats if fans were allowed this year.
